Authorities in northeast Harris County are actively investigating the death of a man, estimated to be in his mid-20s, who was fatally shot and found lying in a driveway in the Crosby area yesterday afternoon. Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the incident that occurred on Zinn Drive near Highway 90, where they discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds, as reported by Click2Houston.
While the sheriff's office has not disclosed specifics regarding the number or location of gunshot wounds on the victim's body, the gravity of the incident is noted by the neighborhood's concern for safety. Maria Rodriguez, a local resident, expressed her concern to Click2Houston, stating, "I’ve never been feeling 100% safe since I’ve been here."
Following the discovery of the body, deputies taking a man into custody for questioning, though he has not been named as a suspect. Sgt. Greg Pinkins shared with Click2Houston their efforts to establish a thorough timeline of what transpired and mentioned that detectives were awaiting a search warrant to process the residence and other items at the property. The identity of the victim will be released by the medical examiner's office once the next-of-kin has been notified.
Reflecting the local unease, Rodriguez relayed to KHOU her concerns about frequent gunfire in the neighborhood, saying, "I just say, very sorry for their parents because like I say, they’re a young kid, that’s the one that stays with pain."
