A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg outside the NYCHA Edenwald Houses in the Bronx yesterday at around 6:16 p.m., according to the New York Police Department. The victim was found on Laconia Ave., between E. 227th and E. 228th Sts., and was transported to Jacobi Medical Center where his condition was stabilized, as reported by New York Daily News.
The suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment, prompting a standoff that lasted about five hours. Police obtained a judge's warrant to enter the apartment, and when they were allowed in by the apartment's owner, they discovered the suspect had already fled, according to the New York Post.
