Last night, Long Beach Police Department officers rushed to the scene of a shooting at the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue. According to an LBPD blotter entry, the incident occurred at approximately 1:46 a.m., where they found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body already being treated by Long Beach Fire Department personnel.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was then transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Despite the presence of authorities, the victim remained uncooperative, and details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting remained sparse. As per LBPD's report, "The circumstances of the shooting, motive, and suspect information are under investigation."
Meanwhile, the LBPD continues to investigate the scene where the shooting took place in hopes of piecing together what happened. The department has not provided information on any potential suspects nor disclosed if any witnesses have come forward.
