Marcus Jordan, son of the basketball icon Michael Jordan, was arrested in Maitland, Florida, on February 4 and has now been charged with possession of ketamine, as opposed to the initial charge of cocaine possession. This charge shift comes after State Attorney Monique Worrell's Office filed a notice of information last Wednesday, clearly stating the updated allegations against Jordan, FOX 35 Orlando reported.

The incident occurred when Maitland police discovered Jordan and a companion stranded inside a Lamborghini on train tracks. Having initially fled a traffic stop by the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, according to ClickOrlando, police conducted sobriety tests and eventually arrested Jordan for DUI. It was during a subsequent search that a bag with a white substance, believed to be cocaine at the time, was found in Jordan’s pocket.

However, lab reports from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement identified the substance not as cocaine but as ketamine and MDA, a psychoactive compound. Charges include resisting an officer without violence and DUI with property damage, which are misdemeanors, in addition to the third-degree felony of ketamine possession. Worrell's office has not detailed the reason behind the charge change or the specific testing that led to the new determination.

The bodycam footage released by police illustrates the ordeal, showing Jordan slurring his words and having bloodshot eyes. He refused to give a breath sample and, after his arrest, was later released from jail. With his legal team remaining silent, Jordan has made no public statements aside from indicating his intention to focus on his business ventures rather than personal issues.
