Commuters in Medford, brace yourselves for a series of lane and road closures starting today, set to add a little extra time to your daily travels. According to official announcements, the closures are necessary for Hydromax USA to carry out public utilities inspections on behalf of Avista Utilities, and will be in effect between February 6-12 from 8 am to 5 pm daily.
On 10th Street between Mistletoe Street and King Street, expect the eastbound lane to enforce a closure with flaggers orchestrating traffic. A similar fate awaits drivers on Garfield Street, from South Peach Street to Kings Highway, where alternating lane closures will be in effect. South Oakdale Avenue won't be spared either, with their northbound lane subject to closure from Driftwood Place to Shadow Wood Drive, as reported by the City of Medford.
Murphy Drive, in another vein, will face alternating lane closures between East Barnett Road and Siskiyou Boulevard. West Jackson Street will echo this approach from North Front Street to Woodstock Street, prompting residents and travelers to seek alternative routes. Over at West Stewart Avenue, from Orchard Home Drive to Oak Grove Road, not only will the westbound lane be closed, but the signalized intersection at Lozier Lane will be temporarily decommissioned, with flaggers stepping in to manage the traffic flow, as per the City of Medford.
Additional closures are in store on West 10th Street from Newtown Street to South Ivy Street, where eastbound travelers will confront another closed lane manned by flaggers. As if these disruptions weren't enough, Kings Highway will see alternating lane closures from Terrazzo Way to Aspen Street while Asplundh Tree Experts trim the trees from power lines for Pacific Power, with this particular inconvenience stretching through February 28. Look out for intermittent closures on Garfield Street, from Kings Highway to South Ivy Street, during the same period.
Imposing itself as an immovable obstruction, Howard Avenue from N Pacific Highway to Berrydale Avenue will be closed with a detour instated to redirect the river of commuters. "Travelers should expect delays associated with this work and are advised to seek alternate routes and parking. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in keeping Medford's work zones safe. Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors," the City of Medford stated.
