Medford will have several road and sidewalk projects affecting traffic and pedestrian access in the coming weeks. From late February to mid-March, lane and sidewalk closures are planned in key areas of the city, as reported by the City of Medford.

Garfield Street, between Kenyon Street and Whitman Avenue, has a westbound lane closure for a Safe Routes to School project by Freedom Builders. The closure began on Wednesday and is expected to end by 7 p.m. On Oak Grove Road, between West Main Street and Madrona Avenue, alternating lane closures will take place on Thursday and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for road striping by Sealco Pavement Maintenance, as stated by the City of Medford.

From February 27 through March 14, the east sidewalk of South Front Street between East 8th Street and East Main Street will be closed for driveway repairs by West Point Construction. A detour will be in place for pedestrians. Travelers should expect possible delays and consider alternate routes and parking. According to the City of Medford, “Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors.” Updates are available on the city’s website.
