Wyatt Ducos, a freshman from Medina Valley High School, won the grand champion title at the San Antonio Livestock Show with his pig and received a scholarship. Ducos had been preparing the pig since August for the competition, according to FOX San Antonio.
Wyatt Ducos won a $10,000 scholarship and one of the most coveted titles in the Texas rodeo scene after his Champion Dark Cross Market Hog stood out among thousands of competitors. “Congratulations on this huge accomplishment, Wyatt!” Medina Valley High School Agriculture Science Teacher & FFA Advisor Kyla Williamson said in a statement obtained by FOX San Antonio.
Medina Valley ISD reported that student Ducos won the Grand Champion title at a rodeo event after raising a pig. The upcoming auction offers Ducos the chance to earn more than $75,000, which can be used for educational expenses and future swine projects. The Grand Champion title comes with significant financial opportunities, as winning animals typically attract high bids from sponsors and buyers at the auction, as reported by KENS 5.
