The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that led to a man's death in Northwest DC. According to a police release, the incident took place on Thursday, January 30, 2025, around 9:32 p.m. when officers from the Third District were called to the 400 block of N Street, Northwest for a report of a shooting.
Upon their arriving at the scene, law enforcement found a 55-year-old man with gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Steven Wilson of Northeast, DC, was quickly attended by DC Fire and EMS and transported to a nearby hospital. Despite exhaustive lifesaving measures, Wilson was pronounced dead at the facility. The case is open and under thorough investigation, with authorities actively seeking information that could lead to an arrest.
The Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward. Informants can contact the police at (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, they can send a tip via text to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. To incentivize witnesses or anyone with pertinent information, the Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000. This sum is available to any individual who provides information that enables the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Wilson's death, or any homicide in the District of Columbia.
