
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Southeast, resulting in a double shooting where a 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
According to Metropolitan Police Department release, Seventh District officers were called to a residential building in the 2000 block of 19th Place, Southeast after receiving reports of gunfire yesterday, at around 2:44 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found two adult males, both conscious and breathing, who appeared to have gunshot wounds. The individuals were promptly taken to a hospital for treatment, where, one of the victims, identified as Aaron Thomas Jr. from Owings Mills, Maryland succumbed to his injuries.
The Metropolitan Police Department has asked for the public's assistance in gathering information on this incident. As part of their standing policy, the department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
