Prospective applicants must satisfy a series of minimum requirements, such as having a high school diploma or equivalent, U.S. Citizenship, a valid Ohio Driver's License, and being between the ages of 21 and 41 at the time of appointment. Non-certified candidates are expected to obtain Peace Officer certification from the Ohio Peace Officers Training Council within 18 months of their hire date.
