
A collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist in Modesto on Tuesday night resulted in a fatality. The Modesto Police Department reported the accident, which happened around 7:36 p.m. at the intersection of Sylvan Avenue and Wood Sorrel Drive. Responding officers discovered the cyclist with severe injuries, and immediate medical attention, the individual, a man from Modesto, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary findings from the investigation, as shared by the Modesto Police Department via a social media post, suggest that the white Scion XB was heading west on Sylvan Avenue, when it struck the bicyclist, who was crossing northbound near Wood Sorrel Drive. In line with their protocols, the Modesto Police Department's Traffic Unit is actively investigating the circumstances of the accident.
