Montgomery County is reinventing public transit with a touch of love to celebrate the most romantic month. The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has unveiled its seasonally adorned Flash Bus Rapid Transit buses, each bedecked with neon hearts and decals signaling Valentine's Day cheers. Not confined to mobile displays of affection, MCDOT has also set up special selfie stations at Four Corners, Burnt Mills, White Oak, and Briggs-Chaney Flash bus stations for riders looking to capture the love-infused atmosphere, as stated in Montgomery County's website.

Riders can join the festivity and win a $25 gift card. They enter the weekly draw by posting their photos of the specially decorated LoveFlash buses or from any of the participating stations to social media platforms like Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and X - and tagging @MCDOTNow. The contest spans until February 28, with the worry of following @MCDOTNow tossed in.

The U.S. 29 Flash BRT route aims to connect and uplift, which is relevant in its service and celebration. As stated on Montgomery County's website, this route runs frequently during peak hours, bridging Downtown Silver Spring with Briggs Chaney and reaching Burtonsville on weekday rush hours. Marc Elrich, Montgomery County Executive, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative by stating, “We hope the decorated buses and stations will share our love with our riders and encourage those who have not yet used the service to try it.”
