On the morning of Tuesday, February 11, officers from the Third District responded to a call at around 7:56 a.m. from the 1300 block of Clifton Street, NW, following a burglary alert. The reported offense involved a forced entry, with the suspect illegally gaining access through a door and absconding with stolen property, as conveyed by the residents who, fortunately, remained unharmed. MPD's case report provided these details to the public.
In the wake of the crime, the victims were able to quickly give a detailed description of the person they suspected. This allowed officers to canvass the nearby areas and locate someone matching the victims' accounts. It did not take long for law enforcement to swiftly place the individual under arrest. The MPD, through a statement, lauded the prompt and efficient work of its members to promptly secure the suspect following the initial report of the burglary.
The investigation that ensued, led by seasoned detectives, concluded with charges being filed against Antwan Graham, a 51-year-old of no fixed address. Graham now faces allegations of Burglary One, a serious felony offense.
