In Mt. Juliet, two individuals with a child in tow found themselves in cuffs after a high-speed chase culminated in multiple outstanding warrants coming to light. On a routine patrol along Interstate 40 West, an officer from the Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) clocked a Mustang, resplendent in red, pushing the limit at 95 mph, as reported by WSMV. The vehicle, sporting a mismatched tag from another car, did not yield immediately and continued for a stretch beyond a mile before pulling over at a Shell/McDonald's off Old Hickory Boulevard.

The MJPD's encounter intensified when the Mustang's driver, a 35-year-old man from Whites Creek, confronted the law enforcement officer, refusing to be subdued and proclaiming that he was "not going to be handcuffed." In a statement on social media by Mt. Juliet Police, an off-duty security officer observed the fracas and steered into action, aiding the suspect's detention. After the altercation, it was disclosed that the driver harbored warrants from Smyrna for failure to appear and signing a domestic order violation, with an additional warrant from Montgomery County for failing to materialize on an aggravated burglary charge. His driver's license was also found to be revoked.

However, the implications of the vehicular skirmish did not end with the driver. His fellow traveler, a 38-year-old woman from Joelton, was also arrested at the scene. As WKRN detailed, outstanding warrants for domestic assault in Nashville and shoplifting in Rutherford County shadowed her. The MJPD was responsible for ensuring the safety of the 12-year-old child involved, who was subsequently escorted to Mt. Juliet and picked up by a relative.
