
Chaos unfolded on a Perryopolis street, leading to multiple injuries after an SUV collided with a pickup truck and two gas pumps before erupting into flames. The incident occurred at the BP Gas Station on the 3340 block of Pittsburgh Street. Fayette County dispatchers reported that emergency crews were dispatched to the site around 4:19 p.m. on Saturday, as WPXI detailed the event.
According to Perry Township Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Nichols, a single vehicle veered off Route 51, collided with a parked car, and rammed into a gas pump, dislodging it from the ground. The gas pump bore evidence of damage from flames, and both involved vehicles were towed from the scene. Investigators indicated that four individuals were transported from the site to a hospital, as reported by WPXI.
CBS News Pittsburgh elaborated that before the fiery collision, the pickup truck driver was refueling and had entered the gas station to purchase a lottery ticket. The SUV, with children inside, reportedly crossed two lanes on Route 51 and struck the pickup truck, followed by the gas pumps.
