
This morning, a domestic dispute in Muskegon led to heightened security measures at local schools but has since been resolved with the suspect in custody. The altercation prompted a swift response from the Muskegon Police Department, resulting in three area schools activating their secure mode protocols as a precaution.
According to a report by MLive, the incident occurred in the 900 block of Evanston Avenue around 8:18 a.m., leading Oakview Elementary, Three Oakes Public School Academy, and Muskegon Christian School to take measures aligned with their respective safety policies. The suspect was detained before 11 a.m., and the schools have lifted their secure modes after the arrest.
Muskegon Police Department's Director of Public Safety, Timothy E. Kozal, provided an update via social media saying, "As of 10:50am the suspect is in custody and the victim is being treated for their injuries." The entirety of the message was shared on the Muskegon Police Department's Facebook page. Kozal added that there is no present danger to the broader public.
