The narrative of Francisco Pascual Angulo, a Nashville man previously convicted on drug charges, has taken a stark and somber turn with new allegations of commercial sex trafficking. According to the Nashville Police Department, Angulo, 37, stands accused of manipulating two women from Florida and Texas, respectively, into a cycle of exploitation and prostitution.
Following a thorough investigation initiated on Monday, details emerged when the two victims escaped Angulo’s residence, seeking refuge in a motel from where they contacted the authorities. They narrated how their journey to Nashville last month – fuelled by promises of a prosperous lifestyle and jobs – degenerated into forced prostitution with a pricing scheme dictated by Angulo himself. Angulo was arrested last night at his Acklen Avenue home, where officers discovered $118,000 in cash, luxury vehicles, including a 2024 Corvette and a Tesla, and expensive jewelry and designer bags.
Evidence of Angulo's criminal past compounds the gravity of his current situation. With felony convictions for drug possession that span over a decade, the man’s history is as sordid as it is lengthy. He was inching along the peripheries of legality with probated sentences from prior convictions – a 10-year one for felony drug possession for resale in 2009, a subsequent year for felony marijuana possession in 2019, and a 6-year probated sentence for cocaine possession in the same year, according to the Nashville Police Department reports. Now, facing two counts of commercial sex trafficking, the stakes are significantly higher as he resides in jail in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
