
On Wednesday, Shondra Renee Zimmerman, a 44-year-old resident of Grass Valley, was reported missing to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office later reported that Zimmerman’s vehicle was found at the residence of her friend, Andrew Gall, in Nevada City.
On Thursday, deputies searched areas Zimmerman was known to visit and expanded their investigation to locate Gall and his vehicle. At approximately 3:55 a.m., they located the vehicle in Grass Valley. Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Gall did not comply, leading to a high-speed chase. The pursuit involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including Grass Valley and Nevada City Police Departments, as stated by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, Gall was arrested after a high-speed chase that ended with him crashing near Washington Road on Highway 20. He was identified, taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for medical clearance, and faces charges of reckless evasion, felony violation of parole, and DUI. After searching Gall's residence in Nevada City, authorities found Zimmerman deceased. The cause of death is under investigation, pending an autopsy and toxicology report.
