Baltimore Peninsula is about to get an upscale boost with the recent announcement by Clyde's Restaurant Group (CRG). They are set to open a new 9,000-square-foot event space, Overlook on Baltimore Peninsula, on the third floor of the waterfront Rye Street Market building. SouthBMore confirmed this move, indicating that the space can accommodate up to 300 guests and will boast indoor and rooftop deck space for various events, including corporate gatherings, weddings, and other celebrations.
Previously known for the now-defunct Clyde's of Columbia, CRG is no stranger to the region, with their newly opened Cordelia Fishbar in D.C. and plans for Ebbitt House. However, holding onto dreams of once again catering the Baltimore Homecoming and CIAA CEO Luncheon, the opening of Overlook signifies a renewed commitment to Baltimore. “We have genuinely fallen in love with the Baltimore community,” stated John McDonnell, president and CEO of Clyde’s Restaurant Group, as reported by WMAR2 News. Additional proof of their attachment includes the reopening of Rye Street Tavern last year at Sagamore Spirit Distillery.
MaryAnne Gilmartin, founder and CEO of MAG Partners, a Baltimore Peninsula development team partner, expressed her excitement regarding the new venture. “Following the extremely successful reopening of Rye Street Tavern, we are excited to grow our partnership with Clyde’s Restaurant Group,” she announced in a press release detailed by SouthBMore.
As far as retail goes, Jersey Mike’s, Slutty Vegan, and Bar Vegan are open for business, with more like Urbano and Live-K soon to join the community. The upcoming Overlook venue is not just an added attraction but a symbol of Clyde's confidence in the growth and potential of the Baltimore Peninsula.
