The NYPD Crimestoppers took to social media to publicize a wanted poster for an individual involved in a burglary in Brooklyn. On Sunday, the suspect, whose identity remains unknown, forcefully entered a residential building at 546 19th Street using a screwdriver to pry open the front door. Once inside, the individual helped themselves to multiple packages from the lobby and mailroom areas of the building.
Residents of the 72nd Precinct are on alert after the break-in left the community feeling vulnerable to property crimes. The NYPD Crimestoppers’ Facebook post shows images of the suspect captured by surveillance footage during the act of theft. The individual can be seen wearing a dark hoodie and jeans, but their face is not clearly visible, adding to the difficulty of making a swift identification.
The post, which was published earlier today, includes a call for any information related to the incident, with an offer of a reward up to $3,500 for tips that lead to an arrest.
