
Orlando has recently become the scene of an unsettling incident where an altercation at a 7-Eleven led to a man facing serious criminal charges. As reported by ClickOrlando, Rodney Clemons is accused of threatening a store employee with a knife due to his frustration over the store's prices.
The confrontation occurred on January 25, around 10 p.m., at the 7-Eleven near Edgewater and West Colonial Drives. According to the victim's account to Orlando Police, Clemons became angry over the cost of a drink and a cigar, subsequently pulling out a knife from his backpack. During the heated exchange, the employee said Clemons threatened to kill the victim, a claim supported by security camera evidence. It was also reported that Clemons was accused of shoving items off a table and throwing a bottle, which struck the employee.
Upon the officers' arrival and subsequent search of the area, a knife and cocaine were found in Clemons' possession. The surveillance video, which captures the incident, was released by Orlando police and referenced by WFTV in their event coverage.
Currently, Clemons is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and possession of cocaine.
