Peaceful Resolution Reached in White Settlement Standoff with Armed Suspect Wanted on Multiple WarrantsSource: White Settlement Police Department

Members of the White Settlement community were drawn into hours of tension on Sunday as law enforcement worked to resolve a standoff with an armed suspect peacefully. According to a social media post by the White Settlement Police Department, the incident began around 2:30 p.m. when a call was received by WEST COMM 911 about a man who had barricaded himself inside a residence in the 8000 block of Tinsley Lane. The individual was reportedly wanted on multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants that were related to family violence allegations.

White Settlement officers were joined by forces from the Westworth Village Police Department, Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, and the Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Warden Law Enforcement Division, setting up a perimeter shortly after arriving. Wanting to exit, the man remained inside the home, and teams initiated negotiations. Dispatcher Adrianne Stewart managed the primary incident from the WEST COMM Dispatch Center, and Supervisor Brandi Vineyard responded to assist.

The tense situation came to a resolution without violence, with the suspect surrendering peacefully after negotiations with police. Participating in the successful de-escalation of the incident were Sgt. James Stewart, Corporal David Streif, Officer Chris Wiseman, Detective Geovanny Ramirez, Assistant Chief Roger Yount, and Chief Christopher Cook from the White Settlement PD, among personnel from partner agencies.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was transported to jail afterward.
