A pedestrian was killed in an early morning crash on North Durango Drive near Corbett Street yesterday. The incident involved a 2018 Honda Accord and occurred around 5:32 AM.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that the pedestrian was outside a marked crosswalk when they were struck by the northbound Honda. The individual entered the vehicle's path, resulting in the fatal collision. Emergency responders declared the pedestrian dead at the scene after attempts to resuscitate them were unsuccessful. The driver, 24-year-old Vincent Woods of Las Vegas, was not injured, and impairment was not a factor in the crash.
This is the 21st traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year. The department's Collision Investigation Section is leading the ongoing investigation, and the identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released.
