
A tragic incident unfolded in North Lakeway on Thursday evening when a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle. The collision happened at approximately 5:17 p.m. along 400 N FM 620 Road, prompting an emergency response from Austin-Travis County EMS and Lake Travis Fire, CBS Austin reports.
Despite efforts to save her life, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after resuscitation attempts proved futile. In the wake of the accident, RM 620 was closed for several hours between Holly Lane and Clara Van necessitating detours for drivers in the area. Lakeway Police informed that the driver involved in the incident stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to the same CBS Austin report.
Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) also confirmed the time of the crash as just after 7:15 p.m., adding to the details of the occurrence. The crash resulted in extended road closures, which affected traffic in the vicinity before reopening around 10:45 p.m., KVUE states.
