A pedestrian has died following a collision involving two vehicles on South Decatur Boulevard, north of West Reno Avenue. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred last evening when a 2019 Toyota Tundra, driven by 65-year-old Bonnie Baker of Klamath Falls, OR, struck a pedestrian who was walking outside of a marked crosswalk. A 2024 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 38-year-old Justo Valencia from Las Vegas, NV, also struck the pedestrian shortly after.

The initial collision with the Toyota sent the pedestrian into the middle lane, where the Hyundai driver was unable to stop in time. Emergency crews arrived to find the pedestrian beyond medical resuscitation. Neither Bonnie Baker nor her passenger, William Baker, were injured, and Justo Valencia was also unharmed. Both drivers showed no signs of impairment.

This incident marks the 23rd traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas in 2025. The identity and age of the pedestrian are still unknown as the investigation is ongoing by the LVMPD's Collision Investigation Section.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is seeking public assistance in the case. Anyone with information about the collision is encouraged to contact detectives at 702-828-3595.
