The Philadelphia Police Department is contacting the community to seek help locating a missing teenager. Amiyah Goldsmith-Byrd, a 15-year-old juvenile, has not been seen since Friday, February 21, around 11:35 p.m. She was last observed on the 48XX block of North Lawrence Street. According to phillypolice.com, Amiyah was wearing a black Islamic garment along with a puffy coat at the time of her disappearance.
The urgency of finding Amiyah is palpable within the 35th District community, where she is well-known. The local police are asking for anyone with information on her whereabouts to step forward and contact the Northwest Detectives Division at 215-686-3353.
At this time, there remains a paucity of details regarding the circumstances that led to Amiyah Goldsmith-Byrd's disappearance. What's evident, however, is the fear, and concern shared by her family and community members as each day passes without a trace of her. Renewed fervor in disseminating her description and last known whereabouts echoes across local social channels and community groups, as residents hope for a swift and safe return of the young local.
Authorities have not released any additional information about potential leads or developments in Amiyah's case. The police are keeping details close to the vest, in hopes that their investigation will bring Amiyah back to her family without any harm. Residents of the 35th District, and the larger Philadelphia community, keep watch with the hope that Amiyah will be found unharmed and can soon be reunited with her loved ones.
