In a sweep of misfortune that highlights the precarious balance entrepreneurs often tread, Phoenix resident Jayde Greer, aged 23, found her ambitions for a mobile coffee enterprise abruptly derailed. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Greer's restored 1966 Aloha trailer, the vessel for her caffeinated aspirations, was stolen from outside her home near 79th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road over the weekend of February 22-23.
The theft strikes a particularly hard blow as Greer had extensively refurbished the trailer by hand, pouring not only her savings but also family contributions and income from several jobs into the project, and "It’s really exciting too, because you never think it's going to happen, or you’re going to get to that point where you’re finished. And then to walk out, and it be gone is really hard," Greer told FOX 10 Phoenix. The distinctive all-black trailer, complete with copper rims and a custom window, has become not just a vehicle but a symbol of Greer's future plans.
Despite the setback, Greer's determination remains unshaken. "Where I am now, regardless of whether I find it or not, I am not going to stop building my coffee trailer or my coffee shop," Greer resolved in an interview with 12News. The Phoenix Police Department is involved, having filed a stolen vehicle report for the trailer, which seems to have been taken from near 79th and Winslow avenues.
In the realm of community, Greer is not alone; her mother, Trisha Molina, has turned to the public for support, hoping that raising awareness might lead to the recovery of the unique piece. She declared to 12News, "She spent over a year gutting and rebuilding it herself — working multiple side jobs to fund her dream of launching her own mobile coffee business." The family has also established a GoFundMe page to assist in Greer's dogged pursuit of her coffee shop. Those wishing to donate can find the link in the 12News report. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the 1966 Aloha trailer is encouraged to contact Phoenix Police at 602-262-6151.
