
A shooting incident in East Liberty remains the focus of an investigation initiated by Pittsburgh Police yesterday, drawing upon resources from both Zones 4 and 5 to address the unfolding violence that has left one man with a gunshot wound. According to the City of Pittsburgh Public Safety Blotter, the incident, which occurred on the 6200 block of Penn Avenue at around 6:15 p.m., dispatched officers to the reported scene.
An adult man was found with a leg injury on the sidewalk and quickly helped by Pittsburgh EMS, then taken to a hospital where his condition is stable. Witnesses saw part of the fight between the victim and an unknown man on Penn Avenue but could only offer limited details. The suspect ran away before police could catch him.
The Mobile Crime Unit arrived to gather evidence, including a shell casing and other potential clues. This evidence is just the start, helping detectives investigate what happened and determine who is responsible for the incident.
