A fatal police shooting in Pomona Monday night left a 20-year-old man dead, sparking an investigation into the incident. Isaac Cannon was identified by family members as the victim. The FOX LA report detailed that Cannon, who worked as a mechanic tech, might have been chasing two individuals involved in a robbery at the time of the shooting.
Law enforcement officials received a 911 call around 10:05 p.m. regarding a man with a gun pursuing two others near Murchison Avenue and Stratus Drive. According to KTLA, responding officers encountered an individual matching the suspect's description, who then produced a firearm, leading to the officer-involved shooting. A gun believed to have belonged to Cannon was recovered at the scene.
"Los Angeles County Sheriff’s homicide investigators are assisting Pomona Police Department with the investigation of the police shooting," as per FOX LA. As they work through the details of the case, the department encourages anyone with information to come forward.
