Queens Community Shaken by Mystery of Local Real Estate Broker's Death Near Clearview ExpresswaySource: Google Street View

Emmanuel Moncoeur, a Queens real estate broker, was found dead near the Clearview Expressway after being missing since January. Moncoeur, 57, had been uncharacteristically unreachable, leading his roommate, Valery Pierre, to contact authorities when repeated calls and texts went unanswered.

According to a report by Gothamist, Moncoeur's body was discovered by a motorist on Tuesday, decomposed and with his hands and feet bound, confirming growing concerns. Pierre recalled the silence from Moncoeur, telling, "After three, four, five days, when I never heard from him, I said, ‘What's going on?’ He's not the guy who’s gonna travel and not let me know."

Police are investigating the death as a homicide after determining Moncoeur died from blunt force trauma to his head. There have been no arrests, and the investigation continues. Moncoeur worked at eXp Realty and was also associated with OneKey MLS, according to his LinkedIn profile shared by Gothamist.

Pierre told CBS News, "I am confused because he is such a good guy. I can guarantee Emmanuel is not a person who would get involved with bad business."
