
Earlier this morning, a tractor-trailer incident disrupted the flow of traffic on I-440 near Wade Avenue, as the vehicle careened into a ditch and overturned. According to an ABC11 report, the accident occurred around 6:30 a.m., resulting in the temporary closure of all lanes on inbound Wade Avenue, which were later reopened at around 7:14 a.m. However, the ramp to eastbound I-440 remains closed as efforts to clear the scene continue.
Commuters in Raleigh were met with a standstill following the crash, the vehicle had veered off the roadway, as CBS17 reported, the mishap took place at approximately 6:20 a.m. Raleigh police confirmed that, despite the severity of the crash, the driver sustained only minor injuries.
The scene of the crash drew the Raleigh Fire Department to contend with the aftermath, with reports of the tractor-trailer having plunged several yards down a ditch, indicating a significant exit from the road's parameters. As documented by WRAL News, no information has been disclosed yet on whether other vehicles were entangled in the incident, nor on the full extent of injuries, if any beyond the driver's minor ones.
