Calling all young swimmers looking to make a splash in competitive swimming! Raleigh's Intra City Swim Team (ICSA) program is now open for registration. With a season running from March 3 to April 29, kids and teens ages 3 to 18 will have the chance to participate in two practices each week. They will also compete in two Saturday swim meets on March 22 and April 26 from 1 to 4:30 p.m., as announced on the Raleigh NC website.

Offered at all Raleigh Aquatic facilities, the ICSA program aims to develop competitive strokes like freestyle, breast, back, and butterfly. As described on the Raleigh Aquatic webpage, which was published yesterday, the environment will be clean, safe, and most importantly, a barrel of fun. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards independently to join the team, taking sessions that vary in timing for different age groups, all occurring between 4 and 7 p.m.

According to the program details, team spirit, skills building, and sportsmanship are front and center alongside swimming. Kids not only race in individual medleys and relays but also learn the ropes of being part of a team. And, if you're a resident of Raleigh, participation comes at $82, while non-residents will shell out $97—a small price to pay for budding Michael Phelps or Katie Ledeckys in the making.
