
Following a series of burglaries at various schools within the Cotati Rohnert Park Unified School District, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety has made a breakthrough. Between January 24 and January 26, the schools were targeted, and after a diligent investigation, authorities identified two male juveniles responsible for the incidents. According to the report released by the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety, a search warrant executed yesterday led to the discovery of evidence linking the suspects to the crimes.
With their residences searched by RPDPS Officers and Detectives, the two juveniles were arrested and booked into Sonoma County Juvenile Hall, facing serious charges, including felony burglary, grand theft, and conspiracy. Running with the law enforcement in the background, one of the juveniles also faces additional charges related to vandalism. For their cooperative efforts in the investigation, RPDPS has expressed gratitude towards CRPUSD, reinforcing their shared commitment to maintaining safe and secure school environments.
The felony violations the suspects were booked for include California Penal Code Section 459 – Burglary, California Penal Code Section 487(a) PC – Grand Theft, and California Penal Code Section 182(a)(1) PC – Conspiracy. Detailed in the burglary, the suspect also earned a felony charge for violating California Penal Code Section 594(a)(2) PC – Vandalism.
