In a string of incidents that rattled North Highlands, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of four juveniles linked to car theft, arson, and a wild chase with law enforcement. It all began just after midnight when authorities were drawn to the 4300 block of Warehouse Court by a burglary alarm and a distress call detailing a car ablaze; the suspects had already fled the scene when deputies arrived, as stated in the social media post from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
The pursuit unfolded quickly, with a Sheriff's K9 Deputy spotting the getaway car—a second stolen vehicle—and initiating a stop, which led to a chase, a skillful PIT maneuver executed near Marconi Avenue and Lacy Lane successfully ended the pursuit but the juveniles dashed, with one brandishing a rifle later recovered alongside another handgun found on an accomplice as reported on the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Two of the suspects were swiftly contained while a Sheriff's K9 named Dave and the aid of a drone managed to corner the remaining pair.
All four were booked into Sacramento County Juvenile Hall after the burned car and escape vehicle were confirmed as stolen. Deputies also found an Instagram video showing the suspects and others casually setting the car on fire. Detectives are now asking the public for help identifying the other people involved.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is keen on tracking down the accomplices captured in the video and urges anyone with pertinent information to come forward, ensuring anonymity for tipsters through the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers line at (916) 443-HELP (4357), and the potential of a cash reward up to $1000.
