The San Antonio International Airport set a new traffic record in 2024, surpassing 11 million passengers. This growth follows a strong recovery in 2023, when it consistently exceeded past passenger numbers, according to the City of San Antonio.
San Antonio International Airport set passenger records throughout 2024, with December 20 being the busiest day in its history. Jacob Tyler, Air Service Administrator, mentioned the role of airline partnerships in supporting this growth, as reported by the City of San Antonio.
In 2025, San Antonio International Airport will see new flights. Spirit Airlines will start seasonal service to New Orleans on February 20, nonstop flights to Washington, D.C. on March 3, and new routes to San Juan, Miami, and Tampa in early March. Spirit will also begin daily flights to Atlanta on April 9. Frontier Airlines will resume its Atlanta service on May 23. These additions show growing demand for travel to and from San Antonio, as stated by the City of San Antonio.
