
A fire erupted in the basement of a building on Blake Street in San Francisco has been put out, and operations are underway to assist those affected. According to a social media post from the San Francisco Fire Department Media, the blaze was reported and contained yesterday. Authorities conducted a secondary search of the premises and initially reported one person receiving medical evaluation from fire department paramedics.

A working fire has been declared for a basement fire. Fire has been extinguished at at 0845 hours. Secondary search is complete.

However, despite reports of one individual needing medical attention, the department later updated that two persons were assessed and subsequently declined transportation to medical facilities. In the wake of the incident, the Red Cross was summoned to assist approximately ten residents who had been left without a home. Meanwhile, the area surrounding Blake Street between Geary and Anza Streets remains a site that locals are advised to avoid.
Fire crews stayed stationed at the scene, performing salvage and overhaul duties. During this phase, another person was reported to be receiving medical evaluation, with the possibility of being transported for further medical care. The nature of the injuries or conditions of the persons involved has not been disclosed.
