A Santa Paula man is facing charges for allegedly molesting two children over multiple years after being arrested on Thursday outside his home without incident, the Ventura County District Attorney's Office has revealed. Martin Herrejon Vieyra, 57, is charged with four felony counts, including three counts of continuous sexual abuse and one count of sexual penetration by a foreign object with a child under the age of 14, and the DA's office highlighted special allegations of crimes against multiple victims. The gravity of the charges is rooted in a sordid betrayal of trust, Vieyra is accused of leveraging a familial relationship to facilitate the abuse, which spanned years, according to KTLA.
The investigation, led by the Ventura County DA's Bureau of Investigation and originated by the Santa Paula Police Department, began in October 2024 after allegations against Vieyra occurred. It culminated in his arrest earlier this week and initial court appearance yesterday, as detailed in the official press release from the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.
District Attorney Erik Nasarenko condemned "horrific allegations," maintaining that for decades, the victims "suffer in silence," but through their bravery, these crimes have now been unveiled, a statement made by the District Attorney's Office.
Currently held on $100,000 bail, Vieyra awaits a continued arraignment scheduled for March 14 at the Ventura County Superior Court.
