The Sonoma Sheriff's Office has reported the arrest of a suspected drug dealer who was also found in possession of child pornography. Peter Vincent-Macias, 29, was initially detained on January 7, for selling methamphetamine and for violating court terms from an earlier case.
After seizing Vincent-Macias's cellphone during a search in his hotel room in Santa Rosa, the Sheriff's Narcotics Unit handed over the device to the Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) Unit for a thorough analysis based on a search warrant. Following a forensic examination, the CSI detectives found a distressing collection of photos and videos on the phone. The content was described as child pornography, with some of the victims appearing to be as young as infants. The images and videos documented the horrific abuse of multiple young children. The Sheriff's Office stated that an arrest warrant was obtained for Vincent-Macias, along with a significant bail enhancement, raising his initial bail from $30,000 to $230,000.
Yesterday, officials revisited Vincent-Macias's hotel room to execute the arrest warrant. He was taken into custody once more, this time for the possession of over 600 images of child pornography, including at least 10 images depicting children under the age of twelve. It was also discovered that Vincent-Macias was again in possession of methamphetamine intended for sale during warrant service. The Sonoma Sheriff's Office released information regarding Vincent-Macias's arrest and the subsequent findings through their official social media channels.
Currently, Vincent-Macias is being held at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility. The investigation is ongoing, and details about the identity and safe rescue of the children involved in the seized imagery have not been made public at this time.
