This Super Bowl Sunday, San Antonio residents have a reason to cheer beyond football. San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is inviting the community to participate in fee-waived pet adoptions, a special event that coincides with the sports spectacle. The address where the event is taking place is 4710 State Highway 151 and it will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prospective pet owners are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to add a new member to their family while saving on the cost of adoption fees.
Apart from the current Super Bowl-related event, SAACS has introduced the SAACS Sunday Funday—a recurring opportunity every second Sunday for people to interact with and potentially adopt pets. The shelter is making sure that each adopted pet is not only physically ready, complete with spaying or neutering, and vaccinations but also, comes with a lifetime registration for its microchip. This added value is no small detail, as it ensures the pet's identification will remain secure throughout its life.
A representative from SAACS emphasized the importance of the microchipping process. "All SAACS pets are totally game-ready and come to their home team spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped with a lifetime registration," as stated in the City of San Antonio website. They also noted that adopting owners would have lifetime access to the shelter’s trainers for much-needed guidance and training of their new pets.
Animal lovers can browse the available animals by visiting the shelter’s website at SA.gov/ACS. With the shelter reminding, "It’s a guaranteed win so don’t fumble this opportunity to draft your own MVP (Most Valuable Pet)," the event is aimed at appealing to sports fans and pet enthusiasts alike. It is to be noted, however, that standard SAACS adoption policies and procedures will still apply to all adoptions during this event.
