Seattle's Link light rail riders will need to adjust their travel plans this weekend. According to KOMO News, service between Capitol Hill and SODO stations will be suspended to allow for systems integration testing vital for future 1 and 2 Line trains. The disruption started at 10 p.m. yesterday and is expected to continue until the end of service on Sunday. Normal service is anticipated to resume with the start of service Monday morning.

During this temporary closure, trains will conduct maneuvers necessary for testing control signals, but passenger service cannot be maintained safely during these operations—as reported by Capitol Hill Seattle. Sound Transit will provide shuttle buses that will stop at all stations between Capitol Hill and SODO, running every 10-15 minutes. Passengers are advised to plan, possibly seeking alternate routes, to accommodate for an extra transfer time between buses and trains.

Joining the chorus, Sound Transit also indicated the necessity of the weekend suspension for integration testing. They reiterated the availability of Link Shuttle buses and urged travelers to consider these interim arrangements while crews complete their work. The service adjustments will also impact stations from Lynnwood City Center to Capitol Hill and from Angle Lake to SODO, with trains running every 15 minutes.
