
Tragedy struck in Severn last night when a 24-year-old man was fatally shot. The victim, identified as Karon Makhai Cann, of Severn, was discovered on the ground outside a townhome in the 1700 block of Sea Pine Circle. According to WBALTV, Anne Arundel County police were called to the scene at approximately 7:10 p.m., responding to a report of multiple gunshots. Tragically, despite efforts by medical professionals, Cann was pronounced dead after being taken to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center with gunshot wounds.
Detectives were immediately set to work, collecting evidence and interviewing several witnesses. Thus far, the investigation by Anne Arundel County police suggests the shooting was targeted, not a random act. As reported by WMAR2News, the preliminary investigation indicates a concerning level of intentionality behind the act. Details around the motive, however, remain unclear at this time.
