The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has released details regarding a recent operation that culminated in the arrest of a man on suspicion of illegally selling firearms. The case unfolded over the past week, beginning with the seizure of a weapon from a woman barred from having it and ending with a raid on a Guerneville house.

The deputies served a search warrant yesterday at a residence in the 18000 block of Old Monte Rio Road, where they discovered a trove of firearms, including two rifles and a shotgun, along with a significant quantity of ammunition, the Sonoma Sheriff reported. 40-year-old Liam Brayton, the resident of the house, was arrested at the scene and later booked on charges of selling a firearm without a license.

"This investigation, initiated on February 17, 2025, was a result of the diligent work of our deputies, who seized a firearm from a female who was prohibited from possessing it," the Sheriff's Office stated. Their follow-up inquiries led them to Brayton, whose bail was $25,000, a figure he managed to post subsequently.
