In a swift response to an online threat leveled against schools, the Sonoma Police Department, alongside various county law enforcement divisions, conducted a search warrant yesterday. Detailed in a social media post by the Sonoma Police Department, the operation occurred in the 300 block of W. Spain Street in Sonoma at approximately 3:30 PM. The action was in direct correlation to an investigation that followed after a threat of school violence surfaced online.
Authorities, though maintaining confidentiality due to the involvement of a minor, assured the public that the threat had been contained. In the post, the Sonoma Police Department expressed, "Although this is still an ongoing investigation, the Sonoma Police Department is confident that the community and specifically, the schools, are no longer at risk of this threat."
