An apartment fire in the southwest Las Vegas valley left one person without a home on Friday night. Reports of the blaze came in around 10:30 p.m., bringing first responders to the scene near West Desert Inn Road and South Town Center Drive. Smoke was seen billowing from a multi-family two-story dwelling, prompting firefighters to take action to control and extinguish the flames.

Despite the late hour and potential for injury, Clark County Fire Department officials reported that no civilians or firefighters were harmed during the incident. Nevertheless, the fire led to the displacement of a resident who did not require any assistance. According to News 3 LV, the fire was determined to be unintentional and inflicted damages estimated between $50,000 to $100,000.

A significant number of Clark County Fire personnel were called to manage the situation. The team included eight engines, three trucks, three rescues, two chief officers, one air resource, and one EMS captain, totaling 54 responders working to quell the fire. Initially, a second alarm was sounded but later canceled as it turned out to be unnecessary for controlling the blaze. "Authorities expressed gratitude to NV Energy, Southwest Gas, and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue for their assistance," a statement reported by 8 News Now details.
