The City of St. Peters is bracing for more winter woes as another round of snow is forecasted to hit the area tonight, intensifying into the early hours today. In preparation, the St. Peters Snow and Ice Removal Team is set to diligently tackle the challenging conditions. Residents are urged to take caution when traveling, as the anticipated extreme cold temperatures and wind chills are expected to pose additional hurdles for clearing roads.
Officials are requesting the cooperation of community members to "keep streets as clear as possible" by not parking cars on the street and placing trash carts at the edge of driveways, not on the street or in the curbside. The removal team hopes to more effectively and safely clear roads with these obstructions moved aside. Meanwhile, the St. Peters Rec-Plex has had to adjust its schedule due to the conditions, canceling yesterday's afternoon and evening classes, as well as today’s early morning cardio class. However, all other programs today are set to proceed as planned, as stated in the City of St. Peters' announcement.
To ensure residents are kept up to date with the latest changes, the City has emphasized the availability of instant notifications regarding winter weather-related news. The latest updates, including meeting cancellations and service interruptions, can be found on the city's official website. Residents are encouraged to download the StPetersMO app or subscribe to email alerts for real-time updates.
In addition to app and email notifications, live traffic camera feeds and weather information during winter events can be accessed at all times through SPTVnow.net, or on local cable via Charter Spectrum channel 992 and AT&T U-verse channel 99. For those who may encounter winter weather-related issues, the St. Peters Snow Line is available at 636-477-6600, ext. 1738. The line is regularly checked, and voicemails will be responded to as quickly as possible.
