The Stockton Police Department has made a second arrest in connection with a homicide that occurred last year. The shooting, which took place on November 18, 2024, resulted in the death of a 30-year-old male and injured an 18-year-old male, unfolded in the vicinity of North California Street and East Park Street shortly before 7 p.m, according to the Stockton Police Department Facebook post.
Officers who responded to the incident found both victims and quickly took them to a local hospital. The younger victim survived with non-life-threatening injuries, but the older victim sadly died from his wounds. After an extensive investigation, 22-year-old De’Arius Wilson was arrested on November 26, 2024, with help from the US Marshal Task Force. He was booked on homicide charges at the San Joaquin County Jail, as reported by the Stockton Police Department.
Maintaining the course of its investigation, the Stockton Police Department's detectives have consistently pursued leads since the shooting, leading to the identification and apprehension of a second suspect, De'Andre Watts, age 23, the department disclosed that Watts was taken into custody last Saturday, thanks to the collaborative efforts with the US Marshals Task Force, again, in North Stockton without incidents; following his arrest, Watts faced similar booking procedures for homicide at San Joaquin County Jail, reinforcing the resolve of law enforcement to seek justice.
