
A suspect in Mesa has been taken into custody following a confrontation with police officers on Monday. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the initial call came in on Sunday night concerning a possible suicide. The situation evolved into Monday morning, ending with the man allegedly firing at officers and barricading himself in a bathroom. Mesa Police reported that they were able to safely evacuate everyone else from the premises before attempting to establish communication with the individual inside.

During the standoff, the suspect, whom police have not identified yet but the note is 39 years old, appeared at the doorway and, per police, fired at the officers involved. Despite the exchange, no injuries to the police officers were reported, and the man was taken into custody using "less-lethal measures," as stated by Mesa Police, in a statement obtained by ABC 15. It has been confirmed that the suspect also did not sustain any injuries during the incident.
