
The Metropolitan Police Department recently reported the arrest of a suspect connected to a robbery incident in Northeast D.C. According to the police department's release, the event unfolded last Sunday afternoon when Fifth District officers, while in the 3800 block of 12th Street, Northeast, were flagged down by two individuals who had just been robbed.
Taking swift action, the officers initiated a search in the surrounding area. They managed to apprehend 29-year-old Antwan Beal-Steward, identified as a person of no fixed address shortly after the incident occurred. He was charged with Robbery Fear and Attempted Robbery Fear—crimes that involve the taking of someone's property under threats that induce fear.
During the encounter, one of the victims had property forcibly taken by the suspect before he attempted to flee the scene. Beal-Steward's arrest came from the police's quick response, locating and detaining him shortly after being alerted to the robbery.
