A snowmobile incident in Luce County has left two individuals hospitalized and led to the arrest of a suspected drunk driver. UP North Live reported that last Saturday, before 8 p.m., a collision occurred on County Road 451 in McMillan Township, involving a snowmobile operated by a 36-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man.
A 53-year-old man from Newberry struck a snowmobile and fled on foot, leaving the injured riders behind. Deputies found the riders at the scene and took them to the hospital for treatment. The driver was later located at a nearby home and arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident, according to Upper Michigan's Source.
Sheriff's deputies, along with Luce County EMS, Newberry Fire, and Michigan State Police, are continuing their investigation into a recent crash in Northern Michigan.
