The streets of Northwest D.C. witnessed a disturbing armed robbery last month, and now the Metropolitan Police Department has made a significant move in the case. On January 30, around 3:50 p.m., a 15-year-old male suspect reportedly assaulted a victim on the 1400 block of North Capitol Street. Using a handgun to intimidate his target, the teen knocked property out of the victim's hand, seized it, and then fled the area – a sequence of events confirmed by the department's press release.
After weeks of investigation, with the aid of a DC Superior Court warrant, the suspect was apprehended last Friday. Despite the suspect's young age, he faces serious charges of Armed Robbery (Gun). In the Metropolitan Police Department press release, it was detailed, "pursuant to a DC Superior Court warrant, a 15-year-old male of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery (Gun)."
This marks another chapter in the ongoing saga of youth entangled in criminal acts within the city.
